What is PORON® foam?
PORON® is a microcellular polyurethane foam manufactured by Rogers Corporation. It is chosen for its compression set resistance and its ability to recover its shape after repeated compression, within a service range of -40°C to +90°C.
It is the first choice for shock management, sealing or electronic insulation, where the service temperature stays moderate.
What is BISCO® foam?
BISCO® is a family of technical cellular silicones, also manufactured by Rogers Corporation. Its service range is markedly wider, -55°C to +200°C, with grades certified UL94 V-0 and HF1 for flame resistance.
The first criterion for choosing between PORON® and BISCO® is therefore not “which one is better”, but the application’s actual temperature and whether a flame-resistance requirement applies.

Why die-cut foam rather than raw sheet stock?
A foam only delivers its performance at the exact geometry of the joint or bearing surface: contact area, constant thickness, dimensional stability under repeated compression. Die-cut to size, it becomes a reproducible assembly component from one part to the next, rather than a material your production line still has to trim.
